Movember has fast become a worldwide phenomenon with thousands of men each November growing moustaches of all shapes and sizes in order to raise awareness for different forms of cancers that affect men.

Leading gift ideas and gadgets review website GiftsGuideUK.com have 5 members of its team each making the sacrifice of not shaving every day in order to grow their moustaches in order to support this most worthwhile charitable cause.

Born out of an idea over a couple of beers in Melbourne, Australia in 2003, the idea for Movember was conceived with the plan to bring back the moustache and raise awareness of men’s health issues. The charity has gone from strength to strength turning over £35,000 (about $55,00) in its second year and  a worldwide equivalent of £26 million (around $50 million) in 2009.

The funds raised during the month of November for the UK campaign go towards The Prostate Cancer Charity (TPCC), the UK’s foremost prostate cancer charity.

As well as raising awareness of Movember through growing the facial hair, the team have also pledged to donate all funds raised from selling the My Scratch Map, one of their predicted best selling Christmas gifts to The Prostate Cancer Charity during the month of November.
